Alberta’s Red

Alberta’s Red – sold out

Who says only grape wine can be red? Spirit Hills’ Alberta’s Red is a dry vibrant ruby red black currant honey wine with smells of spice, dark red fruit and ancient tales of Greece and Rome.  It is a medium bodied food wine, well structured with a strong backbone and good length.  The light oaking brings out its smokey and peppery notes.  It pairs particularly well with lam and game.  Best served at room temperature.

Here is what Tara Petersen, I.S.G. Sommelier says about it:

Visual:

The color is intense, medium to light with a good shimmer.  Good blend of alcohol and juice.  Crystal clear, shiny with a satiny finish.

On the nose:

Healthy, beautiful honey smell, floral notes, currants, cranberries and spicy.

On the tongue:

Very well balanced, medium to full body.  Some peppery notes, floral, perfect acidity, dry, distinct honey flavor, black currants, cranberries. A fantastic food wine, very food friendly with good structure and back bone.

It pairs well with red meats, fowl or game.
